we analyze the composition of sunscreen oil Sun Tanning Oil High Protection SPF 30, Nuxe

Not so long ago, the beloved Nuxe brand introduced a sunscreen line of products, among which there is a tinting oil. What’s inside this summer “miracle”? We disassemble the composition.

What the manufacturer promises

Sun Tanning Oil High Protection, Nuxe is stated as a tinted oil with SPF30. Its main functions are prevention of sunburn, prevention of premature skin aging, as well as care and softening. The composition contains vegetable oils and extracts of medicinal plants, which provide reliable protection and renewal of the dermis at the cellular level. Does not contain alcohol and strong allergens – can be applied to the body and skin.

What is inside

And inside is an impressive list of ingredients. And the very first is an emollient, similar in properties to vegetable oil (Oco-Caprylate / Caprate). Its function is to nourish and moisturize the skin.

The next component is C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate… He is of synthetic origin. But, despite this, he belongs to the safe. It was added to the product to create antimicrobial and deodorant effects. In addition, it acts as a solvent and fragrance fixer.

Dibutyl Adipate – also an ingredient of synthetic origin, belonging to the category of film-forming agents. Eco adepts do not like it for the possible consequences of an overdose: dryness and peeling of the skin.

Next is the line of EA filters. In this tool, the manufacturer relied on chemical ones. Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate – filter with high absorption in the UV-A range. It is included in the oil phase of emulsions. The component was approved in Europe in 2005 and is classified as harmless. It is used in concentrations up to 10%.

Diethylhexyl Succinate is another emollient that is safe when used as directed.

Next on the list – Ethylhexyl Triazonewhich is safe for both face and body. Converts solar energy into thermal energy, preventing the formation of free radicals.

Vegetable oil (Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil) is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Nourishes and moisturizes the skin. Contains vitamin E and other useful components.

Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil – one of the most expensive and useful essential oils. It is obtained from the “sacred” nut (as the people call it macadamia). The oil has an excellent biochemical composition. Contains vitamins A, E, group B, PP selenium, zinc, magnesium, calcium. Suitable for the care of even very dry skin.

Methylheptyl Isostearate – a component with low hazard factors that acts as a skin conditioner. It is widely used in Europe, Asia, post-Soviet countries, but is not approved by the FDA.

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter – Shea butter, which definitely needs no introduction. It contains polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamins that care for the skin.

Tocopheryl Acetate – behind this “scary” name hides vitamin E. It is a powerful antioxidant that fights free radicals. It slows down the aging process.

Eichhornia Crassipes Extract – extract of rosemary leaves, which soothes the skin by stopping inflammation.

Among the ingredients, we also found eichoria extract – a powerful antioxidant, fruit, citrus and uric acid… The latter, by the way, has strong moisturizing and regenerating properties.

At the end of the list – Benzyl Salicylate. This is another UV filter that is also active against bacterial infections. Suitable for all skin types.

The Nuxe product has a good and fairly natural composition. It provides UV protection due to the presence of chemical filters. Eco adepts claim that they are ineffective and allergenic. But there is not a single official study that would confirm this. The composition contains expensive oils, vitamins, medicinal plants that perform the functions of moisturizing and nutrition.
